Electronic Recycling – Richland, Lexington and City of Columbia

We try to keep this blog relevant and not cheesy like most real estate blogs can be. You won’t find interest rates or images“moving tips” but rather relevant stuff we feel our clients may find useful. A lot of these post are questions we get or experience we have. For instance my wife was in crazy “nesting mode” the other day and asked me to get rid of my last 4 computers. I thought easy enough until I tried to find a place to take them, because in Richland County, Lexington County and the city of Columbia you can’t put it out at your curb, nor would you really want too. So here are some tips for recycling your old electronics.

Protect Yourself –

Just because you took your computer to a recycling center doesn’t it mean it gets destroyed on the spot. Make sure to remove the hard drive before taking it. Here is a great article from Digital Trends that will walk you through the steps or will give you links to download software that will do it.

Where to Go?

Since your normal trash service won’t pick them up curbside and most normal recycling centers are setup to handler hem, here are the places to take them.
