Is Buying A Home On Your Radar For Next Year?

It's important to know what you could be doing now in order to be in the best position on both the financial and searching side of real estate.

We notice a lot of people resort to Zillow as their next step, cyber-stalking homes and seeing what's on the market, and then start planning. However, most people that end up having a successful experience with buying a home start planning ahead of time instead of diving deep into the online house search.

If the idea has crossed your mind, here's a more realistic next step that isn't as bad as you once thought:

Coming Up With A Game Plan

The idea begins feeling more real the minute you talk with someone about it. We've seen people treat house hunting like walking into a department store, you went inside with a purpose, but "just want to take a look around". That's a great next step if you're buying a $26 shirt, but that's not the case here. This is one of your biggest financial investments...you can't just return it if you end up not liking it nor treat the entire process lightly.

However, you need to know what you're getting into. If this is your first home, it's obviously important to have someone carefully walk through what buying a home entails so you aren't 'in the dark' once you begin looking. If you've bought a ton of homes previously, it's vital to stay updated with the current real estate market and laws. Having someone understand what you're looking for in a future property is the best way to set yourself up for success, they can identify those properties for you when they become available (or even beforehand) so you can stop missing out.

So in order to make this part less intimidating, we've put our best in place to "connect" you with the right person to have this home buying strategy created. Michelle, our Connect Coordinator, will pair you up with either a buyer's agent or listing agent on our team so they can properly educate you on how to be in the best position financially and resourcefully as you start this process in the next year. That's right, you don't have to buy a house tomorrow...this conversation may help put you on a realistic timeframe that may be even longer (or shorter) than you originally anticipated.

So remove that feeling of "wasting someone's time" or worrying you'll be pressured into buying something - that's not how this works. This is for your benefit and we potentially get to be the ones that assist you through it if we're both a good fit while at no expense to you - do I need to say it louder for people in the back?

Bottom Line

Invest enough time, ahead of time, with the right real estate expert so that you can finally live in the house you've dreamed about at the comfort of your budget.
