North Main Area
ABOUT THE AREA
Encompassing several downtown neighborhoods, including Elmwood Park, Earlewood, Cottontown and Keenan Terrace, the North Main area has become known as a cultural melting pot, and an area that is keeping the history alive. It's known for its hometown feel with all of the conveniences of downtown living, and provides easy access to both Main Street and The Vista. One of the other favorable features of the area is the proximity to all of the major highways that serve Columbia.
With many great parks and community events, The North Main Area is characterized as a close-knit and friendly community. With the addition of the new Bull Street project, tons of new local restaurants and shops are starting to open up throughout the area.
The history of our town is celebrated and kept alive through the restoration of many of the prestigious homes located throughout the area, including the Robert Mills house. While history is celebrated, there have also been some renovations and new developments throughout the neighborhood including Canal Place, NoMa Lofts, and Laurel Hill. With the revitalization of Main Street, many believe that the area is in a perfect position for exponential growth in the next 5-10 years.
