Ole Smoky Moonshine was founded in 2010 and today they have 4 established distilleries in Tennessee. You will find The Holler and The Barrelhouse in Gatlinburg, The Barn in Gatlinburg, and 6th & Peabody in Nashville. The company traces its roots back to the Smoky Mountains' earliest settlers who produced the alcohol with Appalachian spirit and pride. Today, they still use the recipe that was used a century ago. Ole Smoky was actually the first legal moonshine distillery in Tennessee after the state legalized the production, distillation, and sale of the infamous alcohol.

Downtown Gatlinburg is where their most visited distillery is located called The Holler or Ole Smoky Holler. They're also responsible for producing all of the companies signature flavors. It's truly an experience visiting the distillery and you get to learn about the history, process, and take in all of the smells. Get the full experience by participating in a $5 tasting where you get to sample 7 varieties of moonshine. You can also schedule a tour during the week to get a behind the scenes look at the distillery.

Be sure to take some moonshine home with you! They pretty much carry every flavor available in store, so if you sample one you enjoy, make sure to grab a jar. If you want a souvenir, but don't want moonshine, they sell a variety of t-shirts, sweatshirts, cups, stickers, and more. Come enjoy this true experience next time you're in the area!
